«A conflict is making its way through my gut. He pricks and I find that unpleasant. When I close my eyes it plays in dazzling colors in front of my retinas and I try to grasp it, I really do, but it’s just a movie playing out in front of me.»
Lily KuhlmanN
«Lass es einfach» is a dialogue piece that tells the relationship and development of two actor friends. Max and Jasper reflect and discuss their position, the value and meaning of their profession. They navigate through the animated exchange of ideas into a tension-filled debate about the meaning of life and are confronted with their differences and fears. Between panic, anger and fear, the togetherness comes to a kind of indifference. The play accompanies the audience through a form of self-reflection and inner dialogue.
«Lass es einfach» does not offer an answer or solution, but rather extends an invitation to one’s own confrontation with the self. Working closely with all participants, we discussed and developed the piece together, incorporating our own experiences and lessons learned. Based on this exchange, I developed the costume and set design and transformed the stage into a form of late-night show with band and actors, who move through the staging between Performance and interaction with the audience.
